I'm so grateful as a mother to Bosun Care for stepping in to support my son.
They have provided him with a happy and safe place which he can call home.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Bosun Care to anyone seeking a safe and nurturing environment for their loved ones.

After a year away from this establishment I feel able to make a none emotive review on my care at Bosun Care (Stanley Ave).I can think of many instances of mindless and harmful behaviour exhibited by staff, such as repeated manhandling and excessive restraints of a non verbal Autistic man because of the misinterpretation that his vocal stimming was aggression , they didn’t put a lock on my door until 5 weeks after my arrival meaning that Autistic(often nude) men burst into my room ,no risk assessment was carried out ,or the constant fear that left me in acknowledged;essentially young men who didn’t understand the meaning of no could (and did)come in at any point. On my initial visit they where taken for a trip in the car,so that I couldnt make an informed decision on whether I wanted to move in .The 5*reviews are from the partners of people who run the businesses , which I think speaks for the culture of this business (can verify this by cross referencing the “meet the team page”. I wasn’t listened, and any concerns I had were never followed up.
Due to recently moving to the UK many of the staff spoke little English and were unable to understand the basic needs of their service users. A majority of staff wouldn’t stop speaking their home language to each other even when service users where trying to actively engage with them, this lead to unnecessary friction and limited communication.
They also sub letted rooms that where more expensive than the rate of universal credit given (which all service users where eligible for).Leading to vulnerable adults to become in debt to the company.
Please don’t allow your loved ones to be sent here, especially those unable to communicate the abuse and neglect they face.

Terrible staff they don’t understand boundaries & personal space. Forcing social activities when they know I have social anxiety and don’t like ppl very much.
Constant gaslighting not a nice place at all

Edit:
2017/2018
2 years later and still traumatised from the "care" I received at bosun care. At William Street and Charlton way in Bristol. Please never put a loved one, family or friend under the care of these people. CQC and social services are aware and also disgusted by what i went through. Certainty not a service for vulnerable people.
As an example I witnessed a older man being spooned sugar into their mouth whilst being unconscious. It’s common sense to know not to try and put anything into a mouth of an unresponsive diabetic.
They also ignored my medical conditions even though I had multiple letters of diagnosis, treatments. All in black and white. Loads of paperwork yet they discriminated against my disabilities. I was made to feel like I couldn’t use my wheelchair. Or due to my mental health I didn’t want to eat a dinner one day yet I had to lock myself in a bathroom as a particular staff member was on the other side of the door screaming at me.
Another time a staff member watched as I overdosed and then told me I’m attention seeking. There’s a 100 things I can say that went wrong with Bosun and thankfully I was saved but if another person lives in their care and has no capacity or is vulnerable then I’d be really worried. It still gives me ptsd and anxiety to this very day.
Thankfully I was saved from Bosun care and due to their awful care I ended up in hospital as I had deteriorated quickly physically and mentally. After 3 years I’m finally mentally and physically in a better place however I will be scarred for life from the memories I had there.
When I complained, management was awful. They all backed each other up, made out to be amazing and offer so many things yet behind closed doors it was a different story.
I don’t know if it is different management now (2023) or if the same support workers work there but if it’s stayed the same then I would never ever put a loved one there. You will either end up with a dead body or a person who is traumatised, brainwashed and emotionally/ verbally abused.
I hope it has changed. I share part of my story because even if it stops 1 person being placed there then I know I’ve helped someone.
