Churches in Stroud Parish

All Saints

All Saints Church All Saints Road Uplands Stroud
https://stroudparishchurches.org.uk/

This is a fine, light Edwardian church by Temple Moore located on a hillside site in Uplands, an expanding suburb of Stroud. It has a good musical tradition with regular concerts by the choir and invited groups. The majestic and flexible space is adaptable for exhibitions and local community events.
It enjoys a regular pattern of weekly worship to which visitors are most welcome.

The Church itself was designed by Temple Moore and dedicated in May 1910. Moore took full advantage of the constricted hillside site and built a church that displays many hallmarks of his mature work. Externally these include the use of late Decorated motifs, transverse gables to the S aisle, a two tiered east end, and an attractive chamfered broach spire. The bare walls of local stone and the lack of any stained glass give the building a soft monochrome. Due to a shortage of cash the church was only completed in the 30's with the Lady Chapel and organ chamber in 1926, first stage of tower in 1930, second stage of tower in 1932, and spire in 1936.

Our Church is one of the nine Stroud Parish Churches.

We're a community of people who follow Jesus. We're part of the Church of England, based in Holy Trinity church in Stroud (next to the hospital).

We're ordinary, everyday people, just doing our best. We laugh, eat and sing a lot along the way. We often mess up, but it's fun and we get glimpses of God and joy along the way.

St Laurence - The Church in the Centre of Town

The Shambles Stroud

http://www.stroudparishchurch.org.uk

Saint Laurence is the old Parish Church of Stroud and stands in the centre of the town. It aims to be a welcoming building and we try and ensure that it is open as much as possible as a place of rest and quiet at the heart of our community for local residents and visitors alike.
Our worship is rooted in the liturgy of the Church of England and centered around the Eucharist - the gift of Jesus to his people at the Last Supper. All are welcome to share in our worship whatever their ago or background. We wish to be an inclusive congregation with a place for all who wish to explore the Chrsitian way of life.
